Welcome to the official website of the MSU Ballroom Dance Team!
We are a student-run organization that brings together Michigan State University students and members of the East Lansing community who share a love for ballroom dance. Though regular practices, lessons, social events, and competitions, we help our members grow both as dancers and as a team.

The MSU Ballroom Dance Team was co-founded in 2008 by Amanda Morris and Angela Maniaci. It began with a small group of students, some of whom had discovered ballroom dancing in high school and wanted to continue pursuing their passion in college.

Since then, the team has grown into a welcoming community for dancers of all levels -- whether completely new to ballroom or experienced competitors. Over the years, MSU Ballroom has evolved into both a competitive and social team, providing opportunities to train with professional instructors, compete across the Midwest, and connect through lessons, performances, and social dances.

No experience? No problem! We offer a range of lessons—including beginner classes—and we’ll teach you everything you need to know. We have helped many of our dancers with no prior dance experience grow into confident, skilled dancers, and we’d love to help you do the same!
